Guru Nanak College of Education for Girls, Mansa, set up in 2004 is empowering the women of Punjab through quality higher education. Further the college provides General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) & Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) courses which make of its educational portfolio healthcare practitioners. These programmes are expanding to cover a need for professional staff when it comes to teaching and nursing professions, with total enrolment for the year at 296 across all courses offered.
The B.ED programme of the Guru Nanak College of Education for Girls takes merit list while admitting students into the institution. Some of the admission criteria are based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination coupled with entrance examination based on standard operating procedures of state Government and the affiliated university. This way the institution would be able to give chance to those who deserve through pleasant experience to enhance their educational status. B.Ed
Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanity, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification, equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
ANM
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
- Students shall be medically fit.
- Students qualified in the 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by the National Institute of Open School.
- The student shall be admitted once a year.'
GNM
- 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from the State Open School recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government. However, Science is preferable.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
- Registered ANM with a pass mark.
- For foreign nationals
- The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, the State Nursing Council will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed above.
