Guru Ram Das College of Education, Delhi (GRDCE) is an affiliated college that was established in the year 2006 in West Jyoti Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi. Situated on a small but well-planned area of 0.8852 acres, the institute offers courses in teacher education. It is acknowledged by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) authority which means GRDCE follows the national norms and policies to train teachers. It is a co-educational institution meaning whenever it admits students it allows students of both genders to study. The college has 193 students and a teaching staff of 13, thus a good ratio that can be utilised to effectively handle individual students.
For its educational purposes, GRDCE provides various facilities to the students. Other facilities include a health centre which houses the first aid facilities, sports facilities, a canteen, and an auditorium.
As for the educational programmes, GRDCE lays major emphasis on delivering teacher education, and its major course being the B.Ed course. This programme takes two years to complete and, therefore, affords the students full-time education for teachers and education. Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor’s degree and/or in the Master’s degree in sciences/social sciences/humanity, Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
