Himalayan Institute of Educational and Technical Studies, School of Legal Studies was established in 2015 and is an affiliated college situated at Vidyanagar, Shahpur, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. This is a legal education institute established and recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Located in its own 10 acre campus HIET School of Legal Studies offers education to 70 students and is staffed by 8 faculty members.
Himalayan Institute of Educational and Technical Studies has Put the mentioned following facilities to facilitate the effective learning of the students: The hostels is designed for both male and female students who may live outside the campus since the institution has its hostels for the two sexes. The hostels are protected by round the clock security personnel and staff resident full time wardens to attend to such needs. An emergency vehicle is however provided in case of an eventuality with the main objective of protecting students. Over,10000 books have been procured in the fields like technology and law and students can access these books from the college library which is one of the most important sources in the legal education system.
HIET School of Legal Studies presently has only one integrated course related to law. The BA LLB course is an integrated five years full time course in which arts subject is combined with subjects in law. This programme has an intake capacity of 60 students which has been mutually approved marking a stand that the institute will ensure students’ teacher ratio of the institute is perfect for learning.
Certain features of admission process of HIET School of Legal Studies are aimed at enlisting right set of students for its programme BA LLB. Though there is no elaborative information about admission procedure, it could be expected that on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent examination and or the law entrance examination.

Seeking admission into a 5-year law course only the 10th and 12th qualification suffices with the 10th being the basic qualification for seeking admission into the 5-year law course.
The qualifications of the 10th and 12th may be obtained through any mode (distance/correspondence / open schooling method).
And the Pass percentage is 45% for the general category, 42% for the OBC category, and 40% for SC/ST category.
