The Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) was established in 1960. The Institute is functioning under the administrative control of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The IIHT courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and the institute is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The institute offers various courses in the field of handloom and textile technology.
The IIHT courses include the undergraduate, Diploma, Post Diploma and skill development courses. Before applying for a desired course the candidates should meet the IIHT eligibility criteria. The candidates should appear for the relevant entrance examination like JEE Main. The IIHT admissions will be based on the performance in past academics and entrance examinations.

B.Tech Handloom and Textile Technology
A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent. A minimum of 45.00%. average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together. When the candidates produce a grade certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also, otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) will be taken into account. For minimum eligibility, rounding of marks and normalized marks will also not be considered. Improvement marks will also not be considered. Candidate should have a valid score of marks obtained in JEE main of corresponding year examination.
