The Institute of Fine Arts was set up in the year 2004 in Chandigarh – a city known nationally and internationally for its creativity. Established at SCO-103, Sector 40C, Chandigarh, this institute has emerged as the harbinger of the numerous art passionate in region. The institute is currently delivering 13 different courses in 7 degree programmes, starting from diploma to doctoral level in the various areas of fine arts like MA in Fine Arts etc.
Institute of Fine Arts is a combination of classical and modern paintings, sculptures, graphics, and applied arts, to which students enthusiastic about painting, graphic design, or any applied arts can devote their passion. A variety of facilities are available to the students at the Institute of Fine Arts, Chandigarh to facilitate the artistic sojourn of the students. From here the college library as coming a useful place both as a learning centre and as a place where students can find books and other materiel about art as history, how it is done and how it is practiced in the modern world.
Rich laboratory facilities give one a practical training on exacting various subjects in art where one is able to practice in the course of developing his or her talent. The good information technology support seen in the institute means that students are provided with attendant advanced device and resources to manage the artistic activities being presented in the contemporary world using more advanced devices.
It offers 13 full-time courses of diploma to doctoral level, Five of the six schools of the institute offer the following courses. These include Bachelors in Arts and Bachelors in Fine Arts, Masters in Arts and Masters in Fine Arts, M.Phil and Diploma in Fine Arts. The course available to the students offers variety of specialisation including Painting, Applied Arts and Fine Arts for the students to practice in.
