IHM Shimla is an Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, established and affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University. This affiliated college was set up in 1984 and is sited in the majestic hills of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Located in a 4 acre campus the IHM Shimla offers a number of courses in hospitality and hotel administration. Over 842 students enroll in the institute, and even though the institute has recruited only 14 faculties, the institute can boast of a select teaching environment. IHM Shimla offers 4 courses at 3 different degrees in specialisation of hospitality, food production and food and beverage service. For this reason, quality education has been found to be in the institute’s current curriculum and modern facilities.
Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition has also provided numerous facilities to provide aesthetical goals to the scholars along with other facilities. There are well-equipped computer laboratories within the Institute with internet amenities that are handy in enhancing on an ever-developing IT grounded hospitality industry. Alongside, more than 5,000 books, magazines, and journals are available in the college library for students and teaching staff. and cooking aspirants and people via excellent training kitchens and restaurants available in food service industry. There are facilities for playing other games like table tennis indoor games and even cricket ,this is good for sporting personalities. The institute also consist of Boys & Girls Hostels separately with 120 + 70 seats for shared PG accommodation respectively in AC rooms.
The institute gives variety of courses that aims to fit every need when it comes to the hospitality market. These consist of a 3 year full time Bachelor of Science in Hospitality ad Hotel Management, two-year full courses in food production, and food and beverage services, and a two-year full Master of Science in hospitality administration.
