Institute of Human Resources Development, in Trivandrum was started in 1987 as an autonomous institution which offers qualifying education in various technical and professional disciplines. IHRD was established in the year 1979 and has been providing trained human resources for the nation from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The institute has various courses, such as diplomas, and post-graduate diplomas, in order meet the emerging market demand. Over the years IHRD has been able to carve a niche for itself as a technical educational institution owing to its policy of quality and learning oriented education.

Institute of Human Resources Development, Trivandrum has quite a number of amenities that facilitate learning among its students. The official library of the institute has every convenience to supply students with a large amount of and the reference stock of literature. Besides, to facilitate experiential learning, IHRD has functional departmental laboratories through which students can practice what they learn in class.
