The JIS School of Polytechnic, Kalyani, is one of the most budding technical institutions and began functioning from 2009. It is a co-educational institute located at Kalyani, West Bengal, and affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, while AICTE, New Delhi, has approved it. JISSP spans an area of 5 acres, with various diploma programmes in the engineering stream. The total student enrolment in the institute is 864 and the faculty strength at the institute is 42, enabling proper learning for aspiring engineers. JISSP offers 5 diploma courses spread over various specializations. The Institute has a host of modern facilities to support the academic as well as personal growth of students.
A collection of over 10,000 books, 90 journals, and a number of e-journals in the library greatly aids the research and learning process among students. IT infrastructure stands out as one of the premier assets at JISSP since it offers state-of-the-art computer laboratories with broadband internet connectivity and simulation platforms. It includes also departmental-based laboratories designed specifically for five major streams of engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science. These labs help in introducing the students to the industry's relevant working apparatus. The JISSP has separate boys' and girls' hostels with an intake capacity of 640 beds, all being internet-connected and with good dining facilities. Adding to this is a campus cafeteria with Wi-Fi coverage, thereby providing all sorts of comfort to the students.
JIS School of Polytechnic, Kalyani also offers 5 full-time diploma courses in engineering. All the five courses have been designed to provide complete technical education to students, being a 3-year full-time course. It has a sanctioned total enrollment of 360 students across all of its diploma courses, and hence the student-to-faculty ratio remains well-balanced for optimal learning.

Admission to the JIS School of Polytechnic, Kalyani is usually through the WBSCTE Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal. This will be taken as a common examination to admit students for all Diploma Courses offered by the Institute.
