Situated at Kolkata, West Bengal, Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic is one of the very prominent technical institutes that have since 1959 been guiding aspiring engineers. Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic offers a total of five full-time diploma programs, catering to various branches of engineering and pharmacy. Diploma programs include: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and D. Pharma. All these courses have approved enrolments of 60 each, thereby totalling 300 seats for all programs combined. The different diploma courses in engineering run for a period of three years, while D. Pharma is completed in two years. This is done so that all courses can provide a strong fundamental base in their respective fields for prosperous careers of the students, either to work in industry or to pursue further studies.

A good percentage of admissions to Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic are made through the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal, or JEXPO. This common entrance examination is conducted once every year for candidates applying for admission to technical education.
