Kamla Nehru College of Education for Women is affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and was set up in the year 2007 at Phagwara, to transform teacher educators. This women college is set at Chak Hakim, PHAGWARA, PUNJAB, which is an Affiliated Institution recognised by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). Located in a large campus measuring in at eight acres, the college thus currently has a total student enrolment of 165 students and 9 instructors. The institute offers only one course that is B.Ed with total number of approved intake capacity of one hundred students with an aim to provide quality teacher education in student friendly environment.

Kamla Nehru College has pledged to deliver a full package of educational services enhanced by available facilities to help students to develop into whole human beings. Attached to the campus is a well-stocked up library that has 7799 books Including, educational encyclopedia, dictionaries, and research surveys We have subscription to 6 daily newspaper and 12 educational journals in many languages. As for practical skills, the college has departmental facilities with diverse sets in order to carry out experiments. This is through provision of a computer laboratory with modern hardware and 256 Kbps leased internet line which makes the students update themselves with modern technologies in learning.

Kamla Nehru College of Education for Women has a full time B.ED course which spans two years. The preparation of students for a successful teaching practice is the fundamental goal of the course that will incorporate theoretical and practical elements. The college has the provision of admitting students based on merit, the mark obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per the regulation of the state government and University. That is why college admits 100 students for the B.Ed programme in a year and tries to provide students and teachers with the best conditions for education.
