Born in the year 2017, Kamrup Polytechnic is a technical college at Alipub, Baihata Chariali, Kamrup, Assam. This affiliated college AICTE recognised college offers diploma courses in different fields of engineering. Located in a massive 9 acres of plain land, Kamrup Polytechnic has the right setting for acing technical education. It presently provides three courses admitting 60 students each: Mechanical Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. 

 Kamrup Polytechnic prides in having conducive facilities to improve the learning process of the student. The campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls to justify that anyone who comes from very far can comfortable stay. Every classroom must have a class set that includes essential instructional supplies for students; a library is well stocked with books and artifacts. The college cafeteria serves as a place where they the student can take a break and take their foods between classes. Kamrup Polytechnic has a major concern towards practical education knowledge and has got best laboratory required for each and every department. The courses being offered by Kamrup Polytechnic are well selected but elaborate to cater some of the best areas of engineering. In its current form, the institute offers three programmes, each of a total duration of three years. These courses are intended to provide the students with the course content and exposure in terms of theories and enabling the graduates to be productive in their respective areas of specialisation. Although the total total students are not provided based on the proposed intake of 60 students per course in three programmes tentatively this would mean an annual intake of approximately 180 students. This relatively small batch size enables many meetings and much interaction between the faculty and the students. 

Due to this the admission process that has been adopted by the Kamrup Polytechnic is geared towards ensuring that it enrols hardworking and competent students for its various programmes. For instance, for Diploma in Mechanical Automobile Engineering, this institute conducts admission test as a mandatory procedure, while choosing candidates. This is accompanied by an interview to afford the institute the opportunity to gauge both the academic ability of the students and their attributes.
