KDR Government Polytechnic, Mahabubnagar, recognized in 1959, is positioned in Wanaparthy, Telangana as a premier Technical Polytechnic Institute. The affiliated college which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provide standard education in the various fields of engineering. Wanting a suitable environment for the students to assimilate knowledge, the institute occupies a vast plot of 20.36 acres. KDR Government Polytechnic has a total enrolment capacity for students, which is 663 and Faculty strength including Principal as 29, so that the students and staffs have more interaction with each other.
The college also have many facilities that can improve the total learning environment of the college learners. Book Center. Any college library should have enough books and journals to meet all academic needs. Awareness to students’ health is also seen in every institute’s sports amenities that help to balance the learning processes with physical exercise. realizing the contemporary change, KDR Government Polytechnic has endowed superb IT facilities for making the students to know the trends of the industry. The college also fully equipped every department in the necessary laboratories where the students can practice what they are learning in colleges. For conference, seminar, and other cultural activities, there is a large hall with provision for effective management of student affairs, thus making the campus alive. Further, the institute maintains different hostel facilities for boys and girls to provide out-station students a safe residential environment.
KDR Government Polytechnic has trained its students in a total of six diploma courses and all these courses are full time. These courses offers the basic knowledge of diverse fields of engineering that enable the students to build a firm background on their area of specialist. These are the diploma programmes, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
