Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram was set up in 1966 to impart legal education in the state of Kerala. This affiliated college established at Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram is accredited by Bar Council of India (BCI). Situated on the area of 11.49 acres, the campus is a comfortable learning environment for legal education. College provides 5 courses in 4 degrees focusing on different areas of law. This institution is faculty-fo centred with a number of eight; but remains committed to offering quality legal education.
The Kerala Law Academy Law College provides numerous amenities meant for upgrading the learning process of learners. The college has a rich legal library equipped with the internet on both national and international legal databases; the All India Reporter; and the Supreme Court cases in digital form. In addition students can also enjoy the photocopying and computer services which can help them in carrying out research. Situated in the middle of the college, Moot Court Hall is also centrally air conditioned and is used for mooting, special guest lectures and discussions with guests. The playground area of the campus has a multipurpose stadium, a shuttle badminton court besides basketball and volleyball ground is in the pipeline.
The institution provides the beneath law courses to suit all those who have different aims in the legal profession. The college offers 5 full time courses, consisting of integrated programmes, undergraduate and post graduate courses. These are; Integrated course in Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (BA LLB Integrated), Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (B.Com LLB Integrated), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Masters in Law (LLM) and Masters in Business Laws (MBL).
The Kerala Law Academy Law College has a main goal of enrolling the most deserving students and it mostly bases this on merit. In the case of the integrated five-year programs which include the program leading to the award of both the degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, and that of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, admission to the school is based on merit taking into account the results of the applicant’s previous educational experience. The selection procedure to the three-year LLB programme includes personal interview and performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
