KNM Government Arts and Science College was started off in 1982. It is an affiliated college and has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC); it has an excellent mix of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college occupies a small area of 0 acres, and it offers programmes for a total of 659 students with 33 educators. It offers 9 courses in total and is part of 6 degrees offered at the institute with focus on fields of arts and science.
KNM Government Arts and Science College provides many amenities to add value to the college experience. This librarians holds over 14500 books and 10 journals, of which 500 – 600 new books and journals are added yearly. Internet facilities, EDUSAT, tele-training classes, and smart classroom form the IT structure thus clients access to modern resources. For physical health, college offers multi-gym and sports facility. Medical care is obtainable through a free medical facility to the children which is funded by the Parent-Teacher Association. There is also a canteen on the campus as well as mini auditorium and there is a small convenience store that also does xerox and scanning. This means that the students have enhanced access to different sources of information that are now available through the World Wide Web, since the institution loves Wi-Fi everywhere on campus.

MA Sociology
A candidate who has passed a Bachelor's degree of three years duration (B.A. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.
BA Economics
The candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
BA Communicative English
The candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
BA Sociology
The candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
Ph.D Sociology
Master’s Degree holders satisfy the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution. Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
B.Com
A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
M.Com Finance and Accounting
A candidate who has passed a Bachelor's degree of 3 years duration (B.Com. or equivalent) under 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized university.
B.Sc Mathematics
The candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
