Kongunadu College of Education is located in Tiruchirappalli and was initialized in the year 2007, the institution has set its goal to build up the future of education. The Tholurpatti campus of Thottiam Taluk in Trichy is a co-educational college set on an area of 7 acres. It is affiliated college which has got recognition from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) so as to quality in teacher education. The institute run two postgraduate courses which enrolled 367 student, and were facilitated by 10 committed faculty members. 

Kongunadu College of Education has installed modern facilities that facilitate learning to give students at the college the best learning environment. It also has 10,784 books for text and reference, 15 journals, 10 magazines, and 8 daily newspapers in this knowledge resource center for prospective teachers. There are student focused dedicated laboratories such as Psychology Laboratory, Physical Science Laboratory, ICT Resource Centre, Education Technology Laboratory and Biological Science Laboratory.T he college has a fully outfitted gym and sports facilities, an auditorium for performing arts among others for co-curricular activities. In hostels and other accommodations the college ensures that; There is a boys hostel and a girls hostel, the college provides ample nutrition and clean foods. Additional learning amenities include a health centre with first aid facilities, installations, a canteen and transport services.

Kongunadu College of Education offers two full-time courses: B.Ed. or Bachelor of Education and DEl.Ed. commonly known as Diploma in Elementary Education. The B.ED programme is both two-year duration programme having intake capacity of 100 and D.EL.ED ordinary duration two-year having intake capacity of 50. These programmes are meant to prepare students to acquire relevant skills and knowledge in the area of education. 

Kongunadu College of Education selects the students through entrance examination and/or the marks scored in the qualifying examination. Student selection in the college follows the policy prescribed by the state government, the UT Administration, and the affiliated university.
