Lala Birkha Ram College of Pharmacy, Barwala, is a relatively young institution. Nestled in the picturesque village of Golpura, Barwala, Panchkula District, Haryana, it has undoubtedly made a beeline for the frontline in Pharmaceutical Education. The Institute is approved by AICTE and PCI, New Delhi, which amply speaks for itself about the standard of education in the field of pharmacy. The sprawling 10-acre campus is befittingly ambiance-designed for learning and growth. Currently, it has an enrolment of 73 students with a faculty strength of 31. The very institute, following up on the excellent student-teacher ratio, is able to provide more personal attention and guidance.
The facilities in the college are impressive to improve the learning experience among students. At the very hub of Academic Resources lies a well-stocked, fully computerized, and fully air-conditioned library. The library has a comprehensive collection of Text Books, Reference Books, National and International Journals, and Magazines meeting the curriculum requirement of all courses offered. It also provides access to online journals and periodicals for keeping students abreast of the latest developments in the related field. The institute has established 10 fully equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories for practical learning, fitted with modern equipment and adequacy in chemicals and glassware. Such labs help conduct practical experiments of the students part of their pharmaceutical education in an environment that is safe and efficient.
Lala Lajpat Rai College of Pharmacy offers three full-time courses in all, thereby offering multiple options to students for pharmaceutical education. The sanctioned intake of the institute is presently 180 for all its courses. The courses offered are Diploma in Pharmacy, D. Pharma for 2 years, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, DMLT, for 3 years, and Bachelor of Pharmacy, B. Pharma for 4 years. Each of the above-mentioned courses will have an approved intake of 60 students in order to ensure that the class size is commensurate with effective learning.
