Law College established in the year 1976, is an affiliated college situated at Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The courses of this respected university which is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) have been preparing generations of legal professionals for more than 40 years. Comprising a small 3 acre land the college provides a conducive learning atmosphere for the 590 students that it admission takes annually. Apart from this, out of the 11 members in the faculty of the college, all are highly committed professional and by keeping the student ernumber ratio low, the college is able to provide the students with quality education. Currently Law College, Dhanbad has two integrated five year and three year courses, which are used to educate future legal officers.
Law College has got all facilities that are important in helping to improve the learning of the students in the college. At the core of these is the library, which in most learning institutions is regarded as the core of the institution. This rich library can comfortably house more than 750 patrons at any one time, making it fully open to borrowers within the institution, a range of books and journals. Its opening for longer hours during examination sessions also aids the students in their studies. The college also has departmental laboratories, good infrastructure facilities for IT, and requisite sports facilities and more all of which are optimal for an enhanced learning environment. One of the most notable amenities is accountable moot court which is carefully reconstructed with professional resemblance to the real courtroom; mooting trials are held on regular basis so that students could enhance their practical aspect of legal proficiency.
Law College, Dhanbad offers one full-time law programmes: LLB (Hons) and the five-year course , this course aim is at delivering a programme of legal education where the academic content is integrated with skills and practical experience. The intake capacity to the college is 590: the college management maintains small classes to enhance learning.
The admission procedure of Law College, Dhanbad is also merit like all other universities of India has its own admission committee. Applicants will be subjected to either a written admission test or an interview, or both before admission. LLB Hons
An applicant who has successfully completed Graduation under 10+2+3 or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by the State Government., may apply for admission into the course. Provided that applicants who have completed Graduation under 10+2+3 or equivalent certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered eligible for admission in the integrated five-year law course.
Explanation: The applicants who have completed graduation through the Open University system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in the law courses.
