MIHMCT, also known as Madras Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, was set in 1996 in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Located in a small area of 1  acre, MIHMCT has been providing different and wide courses in the field of hospitality, culinary arts and business management. This institute is famous for its vocational course structure and more towards the industry approach. Since MIHMCT is an affiliated college, the college admits students and provide them with both theoretical education and business practice to produce human resource for successful career especially in the hospitality and related industries.

MIHMCT is fully equipped with several amenities to cater to the students needs to help them meet their academic goals. The institute also boasts of functional functional fully equipped laboratories, some of which are hard offices, with the attractive front office lab, the guest handling practical facilitated, thus allowing the students effectively handle their customer. The comprehensive internet and other computer based academic activities can be carried out in the adequately equipped air- conditioned computer lab available in the school. The college library as Information Centre for the college is filled with more than one thousand five hundred books for the assistance of the students in their various fields of specialisation. At present, the institute teaches 10 courses in 5 degree programmes that cover a vast spectrum of disciplinary and vocational preferences. These are undergraduate programmes like B.Sc in Catering & Hotel Management, B.Sc in Culinary Arts & Chef Management and B.Com in Banking, Financial services & Insurance. MIHMCT, for the learners interested in postgraduate level, offers MBA in Business Analytics and MBA Industry Integrated. All programmes at MIHMCT are 4 year, full-time programmes which prepares students towards the professional life.
