Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai is a well-known institution established in the year 1886. Thus, making this college one of the oldest Veterinary Colleges in India. The location is at Parel, Mumbai. This is a Constituent college approved by ICAR. The campus occupies an area of 155 acres with ample space for its academic and research activities. BVC, Mumbai, with a total student enrolment of 575 and a faculty strength of 40, offers a wide array of 34 courses at 3-degree levels, specializations in various areas of veterinary science and animal husbandry.
On the other hand, it is well-equipped with modern facilities for its academic programs and students' routine activities. The institute's infrastructure includes state-of-the-art laboratories for practical training and research, a comprehensive library that stocks all kinds of veterinary literature, and sports facilities for the physical well-being of the students. This is considered the flagship program. At the postgraduate level, the college offers a wide array of M.V.Sc. programs, such as Veterinary Anatomy and Histology, Animal Nutrition, Animal Reproduction Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Veterinary Nuclear Medicine, among many more. On the other hand, Ph.D. programs in Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Pathology, and Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology are extended to those who want to delve into advanced research.
