Narayan Zantye College Of Commerce, Bicholim was established in the year of 1994, located in Goa,India. This affiliated college, recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), consist of commerce courses for the undergraduate, postgraduate and even Ph.D. programmes. The college occupies a narrow area of 4.9 acres total area and student population is relatively small with 820 students in total, 49% of them are male students and 51% are female students. The institution recruits 21 dedicated faculty members, and offers 4 courses focusing on commerce.
Narayan Zantye College Of Commerce boasts of its quality facilities that are aiming at improving the delivery of knowledge and skills among the learners. NewGenlib Library Software has automated the fundamentals of library services, and repository includes over 18,000 books and 68 national/international journals. Students and faculty members have a privilege to get access to UGC Inflibnet N-LIST programme which is host to a number of e-journals and e-books. The college’s infrastructure also strongly supports this as it is built with two computer laboratories fitted with 34 computers and various software packages and are air-conditioned. For physical health, specifically there is amenities include hall for multiple use sports and ground for football, cricket and track & field. In addition, it has a gym, a canteen and an open-air stadium for a thousand people, indoor stadium for three hundred people.
Narayan Zantye College of Commerce consists of four courses, all the courses only in the full time basis. It offers two undergraduate courses, the two-year B.Com and B.Com Hons and one postgraduate course, M.Com along with PhD in Commerce. The official strength of the college is 548 students and out of them M.Com programme is having only 4 seats.
The admission into Narayan Zantye College of Commerce is on the basis of merit which should allow the best candidates to be offered places in the various programmes offered by the college. In this college, the admission to the M.Com programme is given based only on the merit of the candidate who appeared in the universities examinations. In the same way, a merit mechanism is there for admission into the B.Com Hons programme as well.

B.Com
The candidate should have passed(i) the Higher Secondary Certificate(Std. XII)examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in the Commerce stream, OR (ii) the Higher Secondary School Certificate(Std. XII) Examination in the Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University, under this clause, from time to time, OR (ii)the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in the Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University, under this clause, from time to time, OR (iii) the Std XII (commerce) or similar examination of another body equivalent to Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Goa and recognized as such by Goa University.
M.Com
The candidate must pass the Bachelor in Commerce examination with a minimum of 40% aggregate. The total number of seats is 40. The number of reserved seats will be as per Goa University guidelines and will be intimated subsequently.
Ph.D Commerce
- Master’s Degree holders satisfying the criteria stipulated under Clause 2 above.
- Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated program. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
- A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. program of the same Institution.
- Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
B.Com Hons
The Candidate who passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it, shall be eligible for the course.
