The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi was established in 1977. The NIHFW, an autonomous organization, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, acts as an ‘apex technical institute’ for the promotion of health and family welfare programmes. The branches in which the courses are offered are Community Medicine Public Health, and Health Care Management.
National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi also called NIHFW New Delhi courses are Diploma in Health Administration, PGD Public Health Management and MD Community Health Administration. Admission into these courses is given based on scores acquired in the entrance exam conducted by the institute and NEET PG courses.
Applicants are required to meet the NIHFW New Delhi cutoff as prescribed by the management. NIHFW New Delhi also facilitates separate hostels for boys and girls, sports, a library, an auditorium and many more can be accessed by eligible students. PGD Public Health Management
The course is open to:
- In-service candidates working in central, state, and local governments with at least two to three years of service in the health sector.
- Applicants should have an MBBS, BDS, or B.Sc in nursing/ health science/ natural sciences or B.A. in social sciences or equivalent qualification and be involved either in:
- Public health activities at the community, hospital, or district level,
- In directorates of health services, public health, or family welfare
- In other health-related organizations
MD Community Health Administration
Candidates must possess a recognized degree of MBBS (or its equivalent recognized degree).
Diploma in Health Administration
- A candidate must have completed satisfactorily one year of compulsory rotating internship after passing the final MBBS examination and must have full registration with the State Medical Council/Medical Council of India.
- The candidates who fulfill the above eligibility condition is allowed to appear in Common Written Screening Test to be held for post graduate degree/diploma courses by Delhi University.
