Pannaikadu Veerammal Paramasivam College of Engineering & Technology for Women or short name PVPCET has established in the state of Tamil Nadu, particularly in the district of Dindigul. This women only college has been preparing young female engineers for the past 10 years after it started in 2009. PVPCET is an affiliated college that operates under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which provides various types of engineering courses. The college has an enrolment capacity of 434 students and 63 faculty members which makes it a focused learning college. Its program list comprises of 8 programmes on 2 degree levels offered for assorted engineering disciplines.

PVPCET has a well-developed range of learning amenities that can enrich students’ learning process. The college has a good library, Modern Computer and I.T facilities, efficient laboratory for practical sessions at the campus. To nurture the students physically, there are facilities for sports and games plus a gym for the students of PVPCET. The campus also has a girls’ hostel that provides accommodation to out-station students as well as a secure environment. Others include cafeteria, Auditorium and Internet Facilities throughout the University. Transport facilities are also provided by the college thus commuting to and from college is made easy to day scholars.

There are a total of 8 courses currently offered at the college level except for 2 courses which are offered as full time course programs. These are undergraduate (BE) and postgraduate (ME) programmes in engineering. Undergraduate programmes take 4 years while post graduate programmes take 2 years.

According to the admission process of the PVPCET, it has been made very simple and more specifically students friendly. The college seems to operate under the regular engineering admission schedule in the state of Tamil Nadu. Engineering courses offered here comprise of the General Entry programmes in which the college accepts intakes for its wide range of engineering courses, which include the well-known such as the BE in Electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, computer science and civil engineering. 

In this regard, PVPCET has vowed to provide conducive atmosphere for women into engineering courses. The technical education for women provided by the college plays part in reducing the existing gender parity in engineering.
