Patharkandi College of Education Affiliated college established in the year 1995 College at Patharkandi, Karimganj district of Assam Co-Educational institution participating in Teacher Education with two specialised courses College approved by the National Council for Teacher Education established in a sprawling campus of 12 acres. The faculty strength of Patharkandi College of Education is 24 devoted to their task of molding teachers for tomorrow. Thus, an institute offering two full-time courses can afford to attend to a total of only 110 students in a year, a number that is among the lowest in the region; in fact, this is an indicator of how precise the institute's aims are in teacher education. 

Patharkandi College has various facilities to help its learners have an excellent learning experience. There is a library that currently contains above 10,000 volumes of books, 477 Journal, 251 Magazines, and 66 encyclopedias that will serve as resource materials to support learners in satisfying their academic. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls within the campus to ensure that students coming from out-station are comfortably accommodated. The college maintains psychology and science laboratories for practical training. Patharkandi College of Education offers two full-time courses in teacher education. It provides enrolment for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) of 60 students and for the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) of 50 students. Both of these are two-year full-time programmes. This course looks forward to preparing students with adequate skills and knowledge to excel within the teaching profession, hence contributing toward the development of quality educators for the region.

The admission process is totally based upon merit in the qualifying examination for admission to Patharkandi College of Education. For the B.Ed programme, however, the college would get the entrance examination score or any other selection process as may be considered by the policy of the central government or the affiliated university. The admissions to the D.El.Ed programme shall also be made on the merit basis of marks secured in the qualified examination, entrance examination, or any other selection criteria decided upon by the state government or UT administration.
