Being an autonomous college, Patkai Christian College is a well known institute of higher education in Dimapur, Nagaland. Established in 1974, the institute is co-educational and thus, imparts education to all students regardless of their gender. The college’s affiliation with Nagaland University and accreditation with NAAC presents the standard of quality education that is offered by Patkai Christian College. With a student enrolment of 1532 and faculty strength of 74, the college offers various programmes in order to meet the diverse needs of the students. 

Patkai Christian College strives to maintain an efficient environment for the overall development of students by providing a number of modern facilities that facilitate the academic and personal growth of students. The centre of these facilities is the library with a vast collection of books in many disciplines, magazines, journals, and various e-resources. So as to increase practical learning and hands-on experience, there are numerous well-supplied and advanced departmental laboratories including Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology, Mathematics, Geology, and Physics. PCC recognises the significance of technology and has established an excellent IT infrastructure. The UGC Resource Centre of the college has around 46 computers along with internet facilities. 

The college has an active Alumni Association (AAPPC) with its alumni network spread across the country that have strong relations with the current students. In order to ensure the health of the students, there is a first aid facility available along with 24 hour ambulance service. Apart from academics, the college also focuses on co-curricular activities through NCC, NSS, and Red Cross. The cafeteria offers a space to socialise while the 1500 seater auditorium is used for conducting various events. The college also offers parking space for their students and staff. There are four boys’ hostels and six girls’ hostels available at Patkai Christian College. Sports facilities include outdoor fields for football, volleyball, and basketball and indoor spaces for badminton, and table tennis. 

As part of the academic curriculum, Patkai Christian College has 25 courses in various fields of study. The courses offered by the college are at undergraduate, post graduate, and diploma level. At the undergraduate level, there are 16 programmes such as BA with specialisations including English, Economics, Education, B.Sc in Geology, Botany, Chemistry, BCA, B.Com, and Bachelor of Music. At post graduate level, the college has MA in English and Economics, and M.Sc in Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Geology, and Botany; these courses have a duration of two years. Apart from these courses, there are diploma courses in Web Designing, and Retail Management and Information Technology as short term courses having only one-year duration.

The admission procedure at Patkai Christian College is based on merit, the college takes into account the marks scored in the qualification exam. The college also reserves 50% seats for the students from Nagaland and Manipur in particular.
