PGP College of Agricultural Sciences is a recognised college for agricultural studies at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, India founded in the year 2013. This affiliated college is present in Palani Nagar, Sendhamangalam Road and is approved by ICA; ICAR which mandates quality education in the field of agriculture. It has a large land area stretching to 150 acres which makes it a ideal college for learning as well as for research. Limiting the overall enrolment to a total of 530 students and having a faculty of 29 staff members, we have been able to provide a student centred education system. The institute offers two full-time degree programmes: B.Sc Agriculture (4 years) and Diploma in Agriculture (2 years), to meet the multiplicity of career demands in the agricultural context.

PGP College of Agricultural Sciences has among the best facilities that are intended to foster learning as well as the general development of students. There are well-equipped laboratories in the campus that assure practical exposure to almost all the disciples of agriculture. One of the five core colleges includes a comprehensive library as a fundamental knowledge centre for students. Organised sports and recreation are given a big attention, owing to the college’s facilities for sports and games with a well-equipped gym. For cultural and academic activities, an enlarged fulfilling hall is equipped. Computerisation is also done on the campus by a computer lab with more than eighty new configured PC systems with broadband connection/Wi-Fi for each student to help them being with updated technology. A cafeteria and mess which offer the student balanced diet a health centre with first aids also for the students’ health issues. The college provides well-furnished hostels for boys and girls separately with large dining, neat and clean kitchen and common room. Also, it for some of the transport facilities for students and staff, and this make travelling to and from the institution easier.

PGP College of Agricultural Sciences provide a specilised academic programme and having only two programmes of an agricultural science stream. B.Sc Agriculture is a complete four-year full-time course that offers detail information regarding the agricultural field and its components. This is a 2 years fulltime course that was established to provide skills together with knowledge on agriculture. Each course has been designed to address current needs in the field of agriculture and equip students with practical skills for the right job.
