The Rahman Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Kamrup, was established in 2019 and is a new venture within the pharmaceutical education landscape of India. It is a co-educational institution, affiliated with a college located at Tepesia, Kamarkuchi, Kamrup, district M, Assam. This institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and the Pharmacy Council of India. This institute is situated on a 1.28-acre campus and has two pharmaceutical programmes with a total enrolment of 100 students. The strength of faculty is 15; therefore, this institute has maintained a good student-to-teacher ratio, which allows personalised attention to be given to the academic needs of each student.
Rahman Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research is well equipped with all modern facilities for imparting comprehensive pharmaceutical education. The Institute's library is well-stocked with more than 1,026 reference books and textbooks for the B.Pharm. and D.Pharm. courses. Subscriptions are available to 13 national and international journals in print as well as online versions. The e-learning facilities have been expanded by 144 e-journals available through DELNET, which can be accessed over the Institute's high-speed internet connectivity of 32 Mbps. At present, there are 13 modern laboratories in the campus set up according to guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India. The institution provides a computer centre with 20 multimedia computers to meet the students' IT requirements. Other facilities provided by the institute include separate boys' and girls' hostels, a cafeteria, transport facilities, and sports facilities that include indoor and outdoor games.
There are two full-time courses in the field of pharmaceutical sciences that are open to students at the Rahman Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research. These include a four-year B.Pharma programme and a two-year D.Pharma programme. Each of these programmes has an approved intake of 60 students, totalling to 120 seats for both courses. Though in its beginning stage of growth, the institute aims at turning out well-trained professionals in pharmacy to meet the growing demands of the pharmaceutical industry.

B.Pharma
- Passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Science stream with not less than 50% marks in aggregate with the combination of P.C.M. or P.C.B or P.C.M.B with English as one of the subjects. Pass marks should be obtained separately in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or) Mathematics without grace marks.
- Candidates must not be less than 17 years and not more than 24 years of age on the 31st of December of the year in which the admission is sought. For SC/ST candidates, age may be relaxed by 3 years.
- In the case of students belonging to SC/ST/ or Category- I, the minimum percentage of marks for admission to B.Pharm course shall be not less than 45% in 10+2 or equivalent examination (P.C.B, or P.C.M. or P.C.M.B.) with English as one of the subject. Pass marks should be obtained separately in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or) Mathematics without grace marks.
- In respect of candidates who have taken P.C.M.B. Combination the aggregate of P.C.M. or P.C.B. whichever is higher shall be considered for the purpose of admission. However, the students possessing 10+2 qualifications from non-formal and non-class rooms based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling; open school systems of States, etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B.Pharm Course.
D.Pharma
The candidate who has Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subject along with Mathematics/Biology subject.
