RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata popularly known as RCCIIT Kolkata was established in 1999. The college offers various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. RCCIIT Kolkata courses include B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA. RCCIIT Kolkata admissions to B.Tech courses are through JEE Main or WBJEE scores. Qualified candidates must meet the RCCIIT Kolkata cutoff and appear in the counselling process, conducted by the WBJEE Board.
Admissions to M.Tech courses are through GATE/WB PGET examination scores. Before applying for admission, candidates must meet the RCCIIT Kolkata eligibility criteria. The college has a placement cell to look after the employment opportunities for graduating students.
According to the college’s NIRF 2023 report, 486 students were placed with the RCCIIT Kolkata median salary package of Rs 4.5 LPA after completing the 4-year B.Tech programme. Some of the top recruiters of the RCCIIT Kolkata placements are Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, IBM and many others.
The college covers an area of about 5 acres equipped with all basic infrastructural facilities. Library, arts, culture, sports, special classes, entrepreneurship and innovation, clubs, student chapters, MOOCs and Internshala, and Swayam/NPTEL are some of the RCCIIT Kolkata facilities. The institute is NAAC accredited with a grade of B++. RCCIIT Kolkata is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata. The college is approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

The college is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is about 2.2 kilometres from Kamardanga Halt railway station which is the closest.
