Sanjay Gandhi Memorial College, Ranchi (SGMC) also known as Ranchi University is one of the old established institute which was started in the year 1980-. This co-educational college is located in Pandra, Ranchi, Jharkhand and this college occupies an area of 8 acres of land. SGMC affiliated college listed with National Assessment and Accreditation Council abbreviated as NAAC as it follows the policy of providing quality education. The college has a total of 2,499 students and 39 faculty members at present for it offers 25 courses spread across eight degrees split between undergraduate arts, sciences, and commerce.

It provides a variety of resources for students’ academic and otherwise development throughout the college. It now houses a reading room and book issuing facility which is adequately stocked with research and learning materials for the students. All the students who take science courses have adequately sized and well-furnished laboratory for Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Antropology, Psychology/Home Science/Geography. The college also provides a full equipped computer laboratory to meet the technological requirement of students. Apart from academic facilities, SGMC offers sports facilities, an event and seminar hall and students and staff canteen. The college also boasts of a health center as first aid care where the needs of the community are met.
