Savitribai Phule College of Education was founded in 1986. It is an exclusively teacher education institute which is highly repute building. It is a co-educational college affiliated to and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education. Established on 5 acres of compact campus, this college runs two special education courses. It has a total enrolment capacity of 101 students and strength of 8 faculty members. The institute, with such student and faculty intensity, ensures individualised attention and quality education.
The Savitribai Phule College of Education has numerous facilities at its own command to enhance the learning experiences of the students. A well-stocked library is the treasure house of knowledge for any aspiring teacher. Savitribai Phule College of Education conducts two full-time programmes. B.Ed and M.Ed. The two programmes- B.Ed and M.Ed-with an intake of 50 seats in the former and 100 seats in the latter add up to 150 seats for both the courses. The programme is intended to train the students exhaustively in their domain in the world of education. Both the courses are two-year courses, which may well come in handy in study and practicals for preparation of graduates against the modern challenges of teaching and learning.

Admission at Savitribai Phule College of Education is strictly merit-based-through the marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying examination and entrance test, if performed. Admission to the B.Ed programme will be done as per the state government/UT administration, and the university policy. The M.Ed course is also merit-based whereby the qualifying examination score, entrance exam result, or any other selection process as decided by the state government/university/UT administration is adopted.
