School of Biological Sciences is operating under the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, which is a reputed institution established in Pondicherry. Located in Pillaiyarkuppam on the Pondy–Cuddalore Main Road, this was established as a constituent college to promote education and research in biomedical sciences. In order to serve passionate students who are interested in understanding the working of biological systems and their application in health and various research area in detail, the school has undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The students pursuing their programme at the School of Biological Sciences receive assistance from a number of well-equipped facilities. The college has a fine library facility for the students along with the proper collection of books and literature required for the B.Sc course in Biological Sciences. For practical skills and exposure to more practical academic work, the institution has departmental based laboratory where students can practice what they learn academically.
