School of Legal Studies (SLS), established in 1962, imparts quality education in law courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. It is a school of Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi and offers courses such as LLB, LLM and PhD programmes.
SLS CUSAT courses include LLB, B.Com LLB(H), BBA LLB (H), LLM and PhD (Law) with a duration ranging from 1 to 6 years. SLS provides a full-time LL.M. Degree programme that lasts for one year. The programme offers specialisations in various areas, including Administrative Law, Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, Consumer and Competition Laws, Corporate Governance, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law and others. The B.Com LLB (Hons.) dual degree programme includes commerce subjects like Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and essential Law subjects.
To be admitted to SLS CUSAT courses, candidates must pass an entrance test and be listed on the rank list. The entrance test CUSAT-CAT applies to LLB, B.Com LLB (H), BBA LLB (H) programmes and the LLM course. SLS CUSAT facilities include hostels, a wifi-enabled library, a moot court, classrooms, sports facilities and more.

SLS CUSAT is located at University Road, South Kalamassery, Kalamassery, Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala. The Cochin International Airport is 24 minutes away and about 19.7 km away from the SLS CUSAT campus. Candidates travelling by rail can reach Ernakulam Junction which is 21 minutes away and 13.3 km.

BBA LLB Hons
- At the time of admission the candidate should have passed plus two examinations with at least 60% marks including languages in the Science group/Commerce group or with at least 55% marks including languages in Arts/Humanities stream. Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities or belonging to SEBC communities with a pass in the plus two examinations with 50% percent marks are entitled to seek admission.
B.Com LLB Hons
- At the time of admission the candidate should have passed plus two examinations with at least 60% marks including languages in the Science group/Commerce group or with at least 55% marks including languages in Arts/Humanities stream. Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities or belonging to SEBC communities with a pass in the plus two examinations with 50% percent marks are entitled to seek admission.
LLB

LLM

Ph.D Law
Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
