The SD Institute of Education for Girls, Ambala, was established in the year 2011. This affiliated college spread on 3 acres, and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education; hence the institute follows all national standards and norms regarding the training of teachers in a wide spectrum of courses.

All this the college is proud to offer through its various modern amenities, all of which are aimed at adding more value to the learning experience for the students. More than 5,700 books grace the air-conditioned library, supplemented by 7 journals, 9 magazines, and 6 newspapers. The ICT Resource Centre epitomizes the commitment of the college towards technology and is manned with networked PCs provided with internet connectivity, along with peripherals and accessories. Audited sports facilities with an auditorium support cultural and seminar events for development. Another campus infrastructure facility is the availability of specialty labs in the form of a Psychology Lab, Mathematics Lab, and Science Lab. The same have been designed and equipped for practical learning.

SD Institute of Education for Girls has only one course available, which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program. The B.Ed. program is aimed at bringing forth sincere, dedicated, and dynamic educators who would finally be well-suited to the challenges of current education. 

Admission to SD Institute of Education for Girls is solely on the basis of the merit marks experienced in the Qualifying Examination and/or entrance examination as per the regulations. The admission policy that is in place for the institution is essentially developed by the State Government of Haryana as well as the university to which the said institution is affiliated.
