Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College & Hospital is one of the leading Ayurvedic educational institutions that existed in the year 1979 and is situated at Sector 46-B Chandigarh. This is a co-educational college affiliated with the CCIM, that is, the Central Council for Indian Medicine, and a practicing degree college. Being a small college located on a 4-acre area, the college has an aggregate enrolment of 295 students and 48 faculties. The institution is only having one course, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), that has one hundred admission capacities per year. Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital is committed to offering standard education in its field besides adopting modern practices in the health sector that have several scientific backings found in ancient Indian literature.
Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College & Hospital provides amenities that are useful in the development of students, academically and otherwise. The college also has a cafeteria, and it occupies an area of 3000 sq ft of restaurants and dining services, and there are teachers, non-teaching staff, and paramedical staff. Other amenities include an event and seminar hall, a health centre providing first aid, and computer and other IT-related facilities for learning.
Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital offers a single full-time course: The BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. This course takes six years to complete and offers the students an understanding of the principles and concepts in Ayurveda. The college has regulatory capacity to admit 100 students for this course, out of it’s total student population of 295 students. Although detailed graduation figures of the latest admission year currently remain a mystery, the institution has the ambition of churning out competent Ayurvedic practitioners following its competitive curriculum and instruction on hands-on experience.
