Shri Goraksha Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre, which is in Aurangabad, Maharastra, is comparatively a young institution in the field of Ayurveda education and healthcare. This co-educational institution was founded in 2016 and is already considered one of the examples of education in the field of traditional medicine in India. It is recognised by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) to maintain the course curriculum in line with the national board of Ayurvedic education.
To make the learning more enhanced, the institute has the following facilities: An adequately endowed library forms the centrepiece of academic resources to offer a vast amount of research and literary material on Ayurveda. Over and above, the centre has departmental-based labs through which students get practical experiences in Ayurvedic preparation and research. The institute currently offers one full-time course. The degree awarded in Ayurveda is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This programme takes 6 years to complete, and this is probably because of the volume of knowledge one is expected to acquire in the field of Ayurvedic practice.
