Sri Siddhartha Dental College is a dental college in Tumkur started in 1992 and is known as SSDC. This constituent college was established three decades ago located on a vast area of 25.21 acres of land and has been contributing to the development of the future course of dental faculty. Affiliated with DCI, SSDC provides fresher as well as postgraduate courses to 190 students, which is supported by 101 dedicated faculties.
Sri Siddhartha Dental College offers many amenities that help in the learning process of the students in the college. An average library would include both undergraduate and postgraduate standard text and learning material and periodicals. The campus also has Boys’ Hostel and Girls’ Hostel so students can live comfortably. For medical emergency, a health centre with first aids is however near. The current sports facilities are also available and accessible to students while SSDC also boasts of adequate IT infrastructure, and large performance hall. The college canteen provides South Indian dishes and food for students and staff as well as patients who visit the college/ hospital.

In the postgraduate level, dental education of SSDC provides seven niche Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes and each programme admits only two students per year. The specialities among operate is Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology. All programmes are delivered full time to allow the students to undergo through thorough practical sessions within their desired fields.

In SSDC, much emphasis is put on merit in the admission process and thus competition is usually keen. For admission in BDS programme the candidate must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET UG. For MDS, aspirants must qualify the NEET MDS examination In a similar manner, for MDS, the aspirants have to qualify the NEET MDS examination. These national level entrance examinations affiliate to the fact that only deserving candidates make it to this college. The variety of students SSRD attracts students from other states students rather than Karnataka alone showing that it is sought after is evidenced by the fact that 66% of the students are from other states. The college has a balanced gender distribution; of the undergraduates, 73% are female students, and 72% of the postgraduate students are female.

BDS
- The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education;
Note: Where the course content is not as prescribed for the 10+2 education structure of the National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo one year of pre-professional training before admission to the dental colleges.
