Established in 1959, St Francis College for Women in Hyderabad was founded by the Sisters of Charity of St. Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa to provide education to women. SFCW Hyderabad operates as an autonomous institution, maintaining affiliation with Osmania University, Hyderabad. SFC Hyderabad has recently received reaccreditation with an 'A' Grade by NAAC during the 4th cycle.
The undergraduate programmes available at St Francis College include BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BMS, B.Voc, B.Com (H) and B.Sc (H). The postgraduate courses at St Francis College Hyderabad consist of a PGD, M.Sc, MA, and M.Com. BA Mass Communication, Literature and Social Management
Candidates seeking admission in 1st year Bachelor Degree courses must have passed:
- Two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana/ Andhra Pradesh
- Examination of any other University / Board recognized as equivalent by the Intermediate Board.
- CBSE & ICSE students have to pass English and four other subjects i.e. a total of five subjects.
- Candidates from other boards except Intermediate Board of Telangana , CBSE & ICSE Boards are required to submit Equivalency Certificate from the Board of Intermediate Education.
- 60% in the optional subjects and English in the streams of Arts, Science, Commerce.
MA Mass Communication and Journalism
A candidate must have passed with the Graduation in B.A, B.Com, B.Sc. B.Tech, B.E, LL.B, B.L B.C.A from any university under the University Act of India.
B.Com Accounting and Finance
- For the Admission to the Bachelor’s Degree course in commerce(Accounting and Finance), an applicant must have passed the two–year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education in Telangana or Central Board of Secondary education or an examination recognized and considered equivalent by the Osmania University.
- The Students securing 50% and above in the qualifying examinations are eligible to apply for B.com (A &F)
- 60% of the total number of seats available in B.Com (A&F) shall be reserved for candidates who have passed the qualifying exam with commerce subject and the remaining 40% shall be open to other disciplines.
BMS
Any candidate who has passed the Intermediate +2 examination conducted by the state Board, CBSE or ICSE or an examination recognized and considered equivalent by the Osmania University, can apply. The candidate must have a minimum score of 70% in the optional subjects and English
B.Sc Maths, Electronics and Computer Science
An applicant must have passed the two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education in Andhra Pradesh, or the equivalent examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, or an examination recognized and considered equivalent by the Osmania University.
Students seeking admission to B.Sc. should have obtained an aggregate of 60% marks in the subjects concerned, i. e., Physical Science, Biological Science / Mathematics.
M.Sc Applied Psychology
A candidate must have passed with the Graduation B.A, B.Com, B.Sc., B.Tech, B.E, LLB, B.L, B.C.A from any university under the University Act of India. However, it is recommended that students from streams other than Psychology join the 1 year PG Diploma in counseling skills program.
M.Sc Organic Chemistry
A candidate must have passed with the B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry as one of the optional subjects from any university, recognized under the University Act of India.
M.Sc Computer Science
A candidate must have passed with a B.Sc. degree (with Computer science & Mathematics) from any university, recognized under the University Act of India.
M.Sc Mathematics
A candidate must have passed with a B.Sc. degree (with Mathematics) & B.Sc. (Honors) from any university, recognized under the University Act of India. Loyola Academy Chemical Technology students are also eligible to apply.
M.Sc Microbiology
A candidate must have passed a B.Sc. degree in one of the disciplines of Life Sciences from any University, recognized under the University Act of India.
