Sushilavati Government Women’s College, situated in Rourkela, Odisha, and started in the year 1967, is a well-known college for women’s higher education in Odisha region. This affiliated college is located in Sector 2, extending over 10 acres, thus providing an appropriate ambience to study. NAAC has accredited the college recognising its quality education among other things. The college has a total enrolment of 1,562 students and has teaching staff of 19, which offer an environment conducive for teaching. Sushilavati Government Women’s College provide three programmes to prove its commitment towards arts and science stream.

Sushilavati Government Women’s College has installed various facilities that would in one way or another complement the general educational requirements of students. In the library, there are more than thirty thousand books completed with textbooks, references, and journals to support student’s academics study. This institution boasts of its comprehensive facilities which include a multi-purpose gymnasium, and training facilities in basketball, cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho, and badminton among others. 

The college also conducts annual sports events to motivate the students to engage in inter collegiate, inter university and national levels sports. For those who have fitness interest, there is a modern gym containing facilities for yoga under the supervision of trainer. The college on the use of technology is demonstrated in the computer laboratory with 30 computers connected in a network with LCD projectors for conferencing.Other facilities include a 60 seated girls’ hostel featuring a mess, library, television, common room, garden area and facilities for sporting activity, providing comfortable accommodation for out station students. 

Sushilavati Government Women's College offers three full-time undergraduate programmes, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Science. The BA programme has an approved intake capacity of 320 seats while the B.Sc programme capacity is 224 seats which makes the total seats 544 Seated. These are three-year degree education programmes that are intended to give substantial education in their specialised areas so that students can persue advanced academic learning and jobs.
