Symbiosis School of Economics Pune was established in the year 2008 and is a part of Symbiosis International University. The college is accredited by NAAC with grade A. The college is also recognised by the UGC. The institute provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and postgraduate diploma courses. These courses are provided in the field of Economics. Admissions to these programmes are done according to the SSE Pune admission process which is different for different courses.
The mission and vision of the college is to provide quality education and evolve as a major research centre with the help of applied economic analysis. Food Club- The club put up stalls both inside and outside the campus. Recently, the college has put up a stall in the campus named ‘Cakes and Bakes’ and funds collected were donated to the NGO. The club will also conduct workshops in the annual fest.
Canvas- This club encourages students to show their creativity and hidden talent. The club participates in various fests both in campus and out campus, where they decorate and paint the entire event.
DebSoc- DebSoc provides a platform, where students can put their opinions. The club conducts parliamentary debates both British style and Asian style. The speakers are encouraged to use logical reasoning and persuasion more than knowledge so that first timers can also participate.
Streetlights- This is a drama club and helps in enhancing all kinds of skills required. The club also works in collaboration with other clubs.
E-Cell- The club trains its members on developing skills like entrepreneurship. In a recent meeting, the E-Cell discussed how to start a new venture. The E-cell also discussed issues such as financing problems, country’s economic problems, personal economic state and many more. The club also conducts workshops and participates in various competitions.
Epilogue- This club provides a platform to express our thoughts and opinions. The club organises various debates, jamming sessions, elocutions, discussions and poetry slams.
MUN Club- The club helps in developing skills such as public speaking, leadership, analytical thinking and discusses various issues such as global crises, diplomacy, trade blocs, functioning of the United Nations, etc. The club also organises trips and has sent its participants to VIT MUN Chennai, Pune MUN, Rotary Indian International MUN and many others.
Samarpan- This is a social club, where members participate for social cause. The club has tie-up with national NGO Aikarthya and has recently collaborated with Saheli and Sparsh Balgram (HIV infected kids).
In-Sync- This is a dance club and its members participate in various fests of the colleges. The club aims to promote both physical and mental growth.
Pic-Click- It is a photography club and conducts photowalks, where photography skills of the students are groomed and polished. The club clicks photographs of landscape, wildlife, sports, portrait, events, etc. The club also collaborates with other clubs and participates in events organised outside and inside the campus.
Ragga- This is the music club. The club practices western, classical music along with many instruments. The club also participates in various fests.

Symbiosis School of Economics Pune has ample facilities like library, sports, boys hostel, girls hostel, wifi, medical clinic, cafeteria, IT infrastructure, auditorium, gym, etc. The college library has a reading hall, IRC section and stack area with a seating capacity of 72 users. The library facility consists of books, e-books, journals, e-journals, e-databases, magazines, etc. The library provides a SIU library portal, through which e-resources can be accessed. The library has KOHA library management software, which handles all the library administrative functions. SSE Pune provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
The college also provides sports facilities to its students. The college sports department is handled by the university sports board, established in 2010. The board is the responsible body to conduct various competitions, sports tournaments at national and state level, development and maintenance of sports infrastructure, etc. The college also provides gym facility to the students. Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC), established in 1997, is an in-house health care unit and provides medical assistance to students and staff members. SCHC labs are NABL accredited with standardised health care setups.
SSE IT infrastructure facility provides SATA, SPSS and SAS enabled computer systems. The college auditorium is used for organising various events and seminars. Students and staff members can have all time meals in the college cafeteria. They can also access the internet facility for free with the help of wifi enabled campus at any time. SLS provides an alumni association platform, where students can remain in contact with alumni. The college campus also acts as a centre for Quantitative Learning and Applications and Centre for Academic Learning.

SSE Pune offers courses for admission in BSC Economics (H), MSc Economics, Diploma in Quantitative Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Development. BSc Economics (H) is a three year undergraduate programme. MSc Economics is a two year postgraduate course, whereas Diploma in Quantitative Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Development are one year diploma and postgraduate diploma courses respectively. Symbiosis School of Economics Pune awards scholarships to meritorious students, students from North Eastern region and girl students. Students can also avail central government scholarship, which are awarded to meritorious students and disadvantaged groups. To avail the scholarships, students have to meet the scholarship eligibility criteria. As per the SSE Pune scholarship eligibility criteria, students have to score minimum qualifying marks in academics. According to some central government scholarships, annual family income upto Rs 8 lakhs in addition to minimum qualifying marks is required as an eligibility criteria.
PG Merit Scholarship- This scholarship is provided by SSE Pune to those students who have secured minimum 7.5 CGPA in graduation. Under this category, 50% fee concession is provided.
UG Merit Scholarship- Under this scholarship, SSE Pune provides 50% tuition fee waiver to students who have scored minimum 8.5 CGPA in 10+2.
NER Scholarship for Students from Northeast Region- Students first should have a domicile certificate of one of the eight regions of North East. To avail this scholarship, students should have appeared for SET/SNAP/any other entrance examination of SIU and have secured merit based admission to the programme applied and should have 50% marks in 10+2 for UG and 50% marks in graduation for PG. 100% tuition fee waiver is provided.
Malhotra Weikfield Foundation (MWF)- This scholarship is awarded to the girl student who wants to pursue MSc in SSE Pune, This scholarship is awarded on the basis of statement of purpose, bio profile and interview.
Cybage Khushboo Charitable Trust Scholarship- The trust in association with SSE Pune awards 5 scholarships to BSc and MSc students. Students should have a minimum 60% in 10 and 10+2.
Central Scholarship Scheme- Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students- The scheme is funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Students should have annual family income upto Rs 8 lakhs and should be pursuing full-time courses. Under this scheme full tuition fee is waived off.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students- This scholarship is awarded by the Department of Higher Education. Students who have 80% or above marks in 10+2, have an annual family income upto Rs 8 Lakhs and pursuing full-time course are eligible to get Rs 10,000 per annum at graduation level and Rs 20,000 per annum at postgraduate level.
