Uttaran College of Education, Bankura was established in the year 2009 at Deshbandh, Damodarbati, Onda, West Bengal. This is a co-educational institution affiliated with and approved by NCTE. This institution imparts specialized programs in education. The institution spreads over a compact campus of 0.97943 acres and has at present a total student strength of 400 and a faculty strength of 33.

Uttaran College of Education, Bankura offers the following two major courses: B.Ed and D.El.Ed; both are regular programs and run for two years. UG and PG regular courses at the institution have a consistent intake of 50 students per course, and hence, every year, the college offers a total of 100 seats for both courses.

The Uttaran College of Education admission process shall be based on merit with regard to marks in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. The B.Ed course shall run in conformity with the policy and guidelines of the State Govt. and the affiliated University. Admission to D.El.Ed shall be made as per the policy framed by the State Government/UT administration from time to time.
