PEC is an affiliated college that was founded in 2005 at Madagadipet, Pondicherry and is named as Vasavi College of Education. This co-educational institution is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a recognition that make it competent to provide quality education in teaching profession. Located on a small 2.97 acres land, the college provides three programmes in education field. Thus, Vasavi College of Education is providing a student intake capacity of 171 student with a faculty of 22 teachers. Volleyball court, badminton hall, tools for various out door games and facilities for indoor games which cater the needs of the sports enthusiastic. The college has also a health centre equipped with a first aid, canteen for the college staffs and students also has an auditorium for holding events such as seminars.
Vasavi College of Education in its present form offers a total of three full time courses which imparts education related to teaching profession. These programmes are able to serve all levels of education from certification to initial teaching qualifications. The overall students’ admission figure in the college is 171, which is a reflection of the desire of the college to admit limited numbers of students in order to enable them offer the students quality education through proper students’ teacher ratio.
