VDA Degree College, Visakhapatnam, was started in 2002 with affiliations to the University of Visakhapatnam located in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Located at the Kailash Nagar, Gajuwaka, behind Vaibhav Jewellers and closer to the Srirama Hospital, this institution, in its operations for more than twenty years, has been instrumental in the provision of education to people of the region. The college provides comprehensive undergraduate programmes and special academic focus for contemporary areas of study, including computer applications, data science, and artificial intelligence.
Currently, VDA Degree College has several amenities that are intended to support the learning achievement of the students. A bookish library is an important physical collection or centre for the knowledge required in academics or research. Each department has laboratory facilities and prepares students with skills needed in practice according to their areas of specialisation. Good IT support holds the key to making students aware of modern technology. The college also focuses on the health of its students, for this reason developing a gym to accommodate sporting students. For those who need medical attention, there is a health centre with first aid facilities within the compound of the institution. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls to offer out-of-town students convenience and comfortable accommodation. The mess facility offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods in a big dining hall, and the wardens teach the students good manners while eating.
As of now, VDA Degree College has six full-time undergraduate programmes for students to complete in three years each. The course is set according to the present variety of traditional and new specialisation areas that are in demand in the contemporary world. The programmes are B.Com (Hons) Computer Application, BCA (Hons), BBA (Hons), B.Sc (Hons) Data Science, B.Sc (Hons) Computer Science, B.Sc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics.
