Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya, Hooghly, West Bengal, is an institution of learning that was established in the year 1998. Spread over a compact campus of 1 acres in the heart of Suchia, Mosat, this is an affiliated college. The institution got the accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, which speaks volumes of the quality of the education delivery to the students. Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya offers a many course array of 15 courses in 4 degree programs. The college gives to a student enrolment of 1,393, supported by a faculty of 11 dedicated educators.
The college has very large numbers of facilities oriented toward making students' campus experience rewarding and their academic pursuits fulfilled. At the heart of such facilities is a well-stocked library that will turn out to be a powerhouse of knowledge for students and faculty alike. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 250-300, which provides a venue for events of an academic and cultural nature and makes campus life. The cafeteria caters good food and refreshments at subsidized rates for those in need of refreshment. Outdoor sports facilities are limited, again because of space constraints, but the college makes up for this deficiency by providing selected indoor games in well-maintained common rooms. Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus ensures that students are always plugged into the digital world.
There are boys' and girls' hostels for on-campus residents with comfortable accommodation. The college also maintains a health center with first-aid facilities and looks after the students' health and well-being. Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya offers 15 courses, all full-time. Available in different streams, the courses offer a wide range of academic options for the students.

A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained :
(i). A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate arid 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
(ii). 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
(iii). 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of Study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.
Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC, and National Institute of Open Schooling) need not require to submit the Migration Certificate for getting Registration under this University.
