Yadavindra Department of Engineering is a constituent college which was established in the year 2004. Located centrally on an area of 84 acres, this institution has been designed for over sixteen years with the avowed mission of defining the future of engineering education. It also teaches 19 courses of 4 programmes designed for different engineering fields and growing technology. At present, the college has 51 dedicated human resources, and faculty strength across the institution to produce competent learners.
A number of facilities are installed at Yadavindra Department of Engineering with the intention of enriching the college education programmes. The Baba Deep Singh Boys Hostel is an eight storied building where 392 students live whereas Baba Ajit Singh Hansali Wale Girls Hostel, offers accommodation to 262 girls. The central library is a learning resource centre is a treasure trove of information with over 51000 books, 4500 reference books, electronic journal and resource database. Besides, facilities that can attract the sports enthusiasts include a stadium, lawn tennis court, a football& volleyball pitch, a boxing ring, and an indoor badminton court. Health also has its home in the college as it has Bhagat Puran Singh Health Centre along with the medical facilities like ambulance.
Yadavindra Department of Engineering provides 18 full time courses which are B.Tech disciplines in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. The college has also come up with the new course such as B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Hons, MCA Lateral Entry. The number of enrolments approved varies in these courses, 80 each for Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering, 60 for Mechanical Engineering and 40 for B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. It also, at present, awards postgraduate programme like Master of Technology in several branches of engineering both in full time and part time.

The admission policy of Yadavindra College of Engineering is rational. For B.Tech programmes, the enrolment is strictly according to JEE Main score. But, if some seats still remain empty after such reserved and JEE-based admissions then the colleges take the pass-out students 10+2 on merit-wise bases. As for integrated B.Tech programmes, admissions are taken according to the normalised marks scored in English, Science and Mathematics in Matriculation. The M.Tech admissions priority is accorded to the candidates qualified for GATE examination, and then for those who have scored high marks in Bachelor of Technology. The college also provides other entrance tests, out of which GATE are common for post graduates admission.
