Y.B. Chavan College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad is a Maulana Azad Educational Trust’s unaided religious Minority institute and it was founded in the year 1989. YB Chavan College of Pharmacy is affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathawada University Aurangabad (BAMU Aurangabad) and is an approved research centre by the Government of Maharashtra.
YBCCPA is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) New Delhi. B.Pharma
Eligibility criteria for admission to the first year of degree course in Pharmacy:
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XI) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject.
- Secured minimum 45 % marks (minimum 40 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject added together (Maximum of marks obtained in Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject shall be considered for the purpose of addition).
- Obtained a non-zero score in subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology added together at MT-CET
- Rounding of the percentage of marks for deciding eligibility for admission.
In case of percentage, marks (converted out of 10) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subjects added together at HSC (Std.XI), comes infraction then percentage of marks shall be rounded off as explained in the example for the purpose of deciding the eligibility of the candidate.
Eligibility criteria of Candidates who have passed/ passing Diploma in Pharmacy and seeking admission to First Year of Pharmacy:
- If seats remain vacant, Diploma holders who have passed the Diploma course in Pharmacy with a minimum of 45% marks and medium of instruction as English from AICTE approved Polytechnics can be considered for admission to First Year B. Pharm., as per the Government Rules.
Second Year B. Pharm.
The Candidate must be an Indian National and should have passed Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Pharmacy with at least 50.00 % marks (45.00 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.
M.Pharma Pharmaceutical Chemistry
- The candidate should be an Indian National and who possess bachelor's degree or equivalent in Pharmacy from any AICTE approved institution, with at least 55% marks (at least 50% marks in case of SC/ST category AND Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
- Should have non-zero Score in MAH-MPH-CET, if the candidate has neither appeared for GPAT nor having valid and qualified GPAT All India Rank / Total Score.
- In case of percentage, marks in the B. Pharmacy Examination comes infraction then the percentage of marks shall be rounded off as explained in the example for the purpose of deciding the eligibility of the candidate.
M.Pharma Pharmaceutics

Ph.D Pharmaceutics
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the same Institution.
Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.
Ph.D Pharmacology
Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil.
