Younus College of Engineering was formed in the year 2010 and is an affiliated college situated in Thalachira, Kottarakkara, Kerala. This institution is to admit various engineering programmes approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). At present, the college has a faculty of 36 members, which makes it easy for the students to learn. Younus College of Engineering focuses on four courses in engineering, such as civil, computer science, electrical, and electronics engineering, which are only available as full-time B.Tech. programmes.
Younus College of Engineering has diverse facilities, which will improve the college climate for students. The library has more than ten thousand books with various areas of engineering, so students will not lack sources of information for their work. As basis for practical applications, there are facilities such as the Electronic Workshop, Microprocessor Lab, Logic System Design Lab, Computer Lab, Electrical Machines, Fluid Mechanics Lab, and Survey Lab. The college also pays a significant amount to IT infrastructure; there are seven computer centres under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. These centres with the latest Intel systems, printings, scanners, and other software are open from Mondays to Saturdays 8 a.m.–6 p.m. and provide free Internet access to students and staff.
For the students who are in need of special arrangements, the college has hostels for boys and girls. As for the hostels, the girls’ hostels are nearby the college campus, and the boys’ hostel is at Pallimukku junction, so out-station students can have a better living standard. Younus College of Engineering, Kollam, has modern infrastructure and various programmes to offer good quality education to students who want to study engineering in the state of Kerala.
Younus College of Engineering teaches four different B.Tech. programmes of which are full-time programmes. The total intake capacity of the college is spread over these courses and is 150 seats. Whereas B.Tech in Civil Engineering has the largest number of enrolments of 60, whereas other three programmes which include Computer Science Engineering, Electric and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics Engineering, have an enrolment of 30 each. Such a versatile list of engineering branches makes it possible to define an area of focus that inspires students and suits them best.

The admissions process at Younus College of Engineering is made very smooth so that every student who wants to join this college can do so easily. In general, exam results of state or nationwide entrance tests are taken into consideration in the engineering colleges in Kerala. The fee structure of the college is common for all the B.Tech programmes offered, and the cost of each course is Rs 3,00,000 for the entire course. Such a transparent structure of fees also does assist students and their parents to financially plan for their education appropriately.
